I have just read the first 100 pages of The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. I knew, before i started reading even the first page of this book that it would be different from the average books that I have read in the past. I expected it to be a different experience because the book is told from Susie Salmon's view in heaven.
Susie Salmon is a girl who was raped and then murdered by her neighbor. The book is told after she is dead and in heaven. She watches over her friends and family from heaven and gets to see their life now that she is not on Earth with them. She looks at the lives of her classmates, relatives, and others as the cope and move on after her death. Although this is starting out to be a pretty good book, I'm wondering whats going to happen next.
My thoughts about this book are, if she's already dead and in heaven, what will happen that can make the book interesting and exciting to read? I'm pretty sure that its a good book, as I've heard from a few of my friends, but as of now I am not that sure what direction this book is heading in. As of right now, it kind of seems like it's going to be dragged out and a bit boring but, hopefully not! =]

OH! I read this book before~ it's a pretty good book except (in my opinion) it would've been better if it wasn't in susie's point of view. I just don't like stories that says "I" all the time. But the book was pretty good.

The book looks really interesting. The first part of the book reminded me of Go ask Alice but then it totally changed. I wonder how the girl feels looking at earth (looking at her family and friends) from heaven.
I want to read the book now :)

Wow. Your response to The Lovely Bones makes the book sound really amazing! I think that the book will be interesting, because it is written in point from a girl who is in heaven. Even though I didn't read this book, I have the same thoughts as you to what will happen in the book. I hope that you will enjoy this book more and more, as you get closer to the end(:
I agree with Jessica. Your response to the book makes the book sound amazing. I would want to read this book. I can't believe her neighbor murdered and raped her. What a sicko. What I want to find out is if her neighbor even goes to jail or if he is just having a happy life in which he rapes and murders more girls. How sad. I want to find out too if she like protects her family and friends and classmates and all the people she loves from the forces of evil
So many people are reading that book! The lovely bones sound really good! I bet it is interesting to read a book about death and heaven.

Hey Emily! We were talking about The Lovely Bones in book club. I heard it was a really good book. Do you know why it's called "the lovely bones" yet? LOL. I feel so bad for Susie. She was raped? And killed? That is so suckish. Do you like it? You're right. It does sound different from other books. Who ever read a book written in the view of a girl in heaven? Have fun reading! <3
Book looks really intresting. It's similar to Go Ask Alice which i just finished reading.
