I just finished 300 pages. I only have 28 more pages to read which I will finish in the next couple of days. So far, this book has been mediocre. I was expecting more action or a bigger climax. I don't really think that there has been one part of the book that was really really exciting. There have been a couple sections where the book has gotten a little more interesting, but nothing big. Since there is so little of the book left, I am kind of getting worried. Mr. Harvey still hasn't been convicted. I really want him to be found guilty. He deserves to be punished for the numerous murders he has committed.
As the book progresses, a couple things change. One big occurrence is that Susie's mom, Abigail has left her family and moved to California. She left everything and everyone back at home , her family, her past, and Len Fenerman (the detective she had an affair with). She started over by moving to California where nobody knew her and she got a job working at a winery. I think she did this because she just wanted to forget about Susie because its a painful memory for her. Even though she left, she still saw Susie everywhere in Califronia. The book has now fast forward so that Lindsey (Susie's sister) is 21 and Buckley aka Buck (Susie's brother) is now a teenager. Samuel, Lindsey's boyfriend when she was 14, has proposed to her and they are getting married. Susie's dad had a heartattack and Abigail has finally come back to see him. Mr. Harvey (Susie's murderer) also came back to town. Ruth (Susie's classmate who is very close with Susie in a unique way) went with Ray (the boy Susie first kissed) to look at a sinkhole. This was where Susie was killed but Ruth doesnt know that. As Ruth walked along the road..Mr. Harvey passes by with his car and Ruth is hit..I think. This is a very exciting part of the book because im not exactly sure what just happened to Ruth but I think she might die.
I really hope that the ending is good. If it ends with leaving the murder of Susie Salmon unsolved, I will be dissapointed.
